Those Wet Floors

Ever come across the increasing sophisticated sign "Wet Floor: Caution" placed on the floor, and the cleaner continues to "paint" the whole breadth of the floor wet? And you wondered why?

I looked in dismay when I saw the cleaned floor started having patterns of different shoe prints as people just walked on the wet floor, albeit with care lest they slipped and fell. The cleaner nonchalantly went about his cleaning the floor with the mop, as if appreciating the additional designs to the wet floor.
